Teacher Enrichment - Classroom Management for all ages

The prospect of facing a classroom full of kids can be daunting for both new and old teachers alike. We also know that effective teacher training is a lifespan education, a conversation between teachers, students, and parents. These classes are designed to bring teachers together and continue this conversation.

Led by Mark VanKempen, who has a MA in Education as well as 10 years of classroom experience, these classes will help develop and expand your teaching skills. Each class will have a topic and a co-teacher with knowledge of that topic. These classes will be held regularly on the third Sunday of each month. They are geared toward SGD teachers, but anyone interested can attend.

This class's topic is Classroom Management for all ages. Our co-teacher is Stella Anderson, a member of the SGD committee and most recently a history teacher at Pioneer High School. We'll be looking at how to create effective classroom routines and culture, setting and helping students meet expectations, and dealing with unexpected classroom situations.
