The Men of the First Unitarian Universalist Congregation of Ann Arbor held the special Twentieth Anniversary Men’s Retreat, September 20-22, 2019.

The UUAA men’s retreat is 20 years old!

The UUAA Men's Retreat is renowned for blending friendship, fun, intellectual & spiritual discourse, humor, and physical activities. You will have the opportunity to participate in large group discussions and small group “lodge meetings”. Fun and thought-provoking campfires and nature walks. Relaxing activities like tai-chi, fishing, canoeing, running, frisbee tossing, and much more. Bring a favorite talent or passion to share. Dine and hang out with an eclectic bunch of fun-loving, intelligent, and thoughtful men.

Each year something new and enriching happens. Impromptu jam sessions and star gazing are a couple of examples of what “first timers” have unexpectedly brought to the retreat.

This year’s theme was resilience.  We explored themes of self-awareness of the challenges we’ve faced and the obstacles we’ve overcome; how to maintain a sense of optimism; and the power of community to equip us with a toolbox of resilience skills. We hope this will lead to powerful discussions about a timely and meaningful topic.

First-time retreat attendees pay half price. Scholarships are available so that everyone who wants to attend can attend.

WHEN: September 20-22nd, 2019

WHERE: Judson-Collins Center on Wamplers Lake, Onsted, MI
