Sunday volunteer positions include greeting, ushering, conducting newcomer sessions, staffing the Involvement Table, and running the audio equipment. And if you prefer working with our children and youth, there is the opportunity to be a Sunday classroom teacher.

All of these volunteer positions are a wonderful way to get to know other congregants and visitors. Typically, people commit to one or two services a month so the time commitment is minimal but the rewards are great.

Greeters

Greeters arrive 20 minutes before the service and welcome all who enter the front door.  Greeters also assist newcomers in filling out Visitor Information Cards, getting nametags, and finding their way.

Ushers

Ushers arrive 20 minutes before the start of the service.  Ushers handout programs before the service, help seat people entering the sanctuary, collect the morning offering and assist latecomers.

Newcomer Welcomers

Newcomer Welcomers meet with visitors for about 20 to 30 minutes after Sunday  services to answer questions about our congregation and Unitarian Universalism.  Welcomers also guide newcomers in getting connected to the congregation.  You do not need to be an expert on Unitarian Universalism or our congregation to be a Newcomer Welcomer.

Involvement Table Staff

Involvement Table Staff oversee the Involvement Table in the Social Hall after Sunday services.  The staff is available to answer questions or pass questions on to the office about the materials on the Involvement Table or publicized activities.  This is usually a half-hour commitment .

Social Hour Refreshment Team

Social Hour Refreshment Teams organize and run the offering of refreshments during the Social Hour that follows each service.  These volunteers make the coffee, set up the snack tables, and help clean up after each Social Hour.  Some volunteers arrive 30 minutes  before the service to help set up, while others stay 30 minutes after the Social Hour  to help clean up.

Audio Controller Team

Audio Controllers arrive 20 minutes before each service and are in charge of checking and running the sound system for the Sunday services.  They also assist in providing audio devices upon request.
