National Cherry Festival 2010

Traverse City is proud to be America's Cherry Capital, and we celebrate that heritage every year during the first week of July with the National Cherry Festival. Our festival features over 150 family activities: air shows, fireworks, parades (including the nation's largest all-children parade), games, midway rides, nightly outdoor concerts and lots of chances to taste delicious cherry products. Everything is located conveniently within walking distance, and since almost all the events are free, it offers more than a week of affordable family fun. Now in its 84th year, this year's festival will kick off with a patriotic 4th of July weekend return visit by the U.S. Navy Blue Angels. Copper Country Strawberry Festival

Children's Garden Day

Children learn about nature and gardening from hands-on activities and demonstrations about wildlife, nature and plants. Take a wagon ride out to the corn maze, visit the pond life exhibit and farm animals on display. There will be story telling and craft activities. Come dressed to keep cool on our sprinkler hill. Manchester Chicken Broil

The biggest event of its kind! The Chicken Broil provides a delicious chicken dinner complete with ½ chicken, roll with butter, fresh made cole slaw with secret local recipe, radishes, chips and beverage. Additional soft drinks, water and ice cream are available as extras. Entertainment and lots of camaraderie are provided for your enjoyment! An antique car show is included. Annual Farmers' Festival

Farmers' Festival is an annual celebration honoring Farmers and the Farming Community. This year's Festival will include farm tours, an art and craft show, barbecues, professional entertainment at the Barn Shell stage, Antique Tractor & Machinery Show, huge fireworks display, and one of the largest parades you will witness! This great rural community is located 40 miles northeast of Bay City on M-142 in the heartland of farming country. Yale Bologna Festival

Free entertainment galore for children and adults. Big bologna parade, fireworks, outhouse races, cardboard boat races, bologna ring toss, craft show, car Show, pony rides. Plus all the Yale Bologna you can eat! T.J. Minnie sold his first bologna in 1906 from a small shop located downtown on Main Street. Taste of Grand Rapids and Barbecue Competition

Hundreds of youth exhibitors will participate in livestock classes, horse shows and Ag Olympics, among other events.
