Forum: Understanding Mass Incarceration in Michigan … and What We Can Do Now!
Sunday, September 17, 1:15pm – 3:00pm, Fahs Chapel & via Zoom
Join Restorative Justice and guest speakers Natalie Holbrook, director of the Michigan Criminal Justice Program of AFSC, and Lawanda Hollister, an AFSC organizer who spent 30+ years incarcerated, to learn about Michigan’s life and long-term prison sentences (longest average of all states) and the people they impact. They will also help us to understand and advocate for “Second Look” legislation to reduce unnecessary, long prison stays and offer opportunities to work for commutation of sentences. A vegetarian/vegan lunch will be served. To register to receive the Zoom link, click here. Please contact restorativejusticeinfo@uuaa.org if you plan to attend in person. This helps with the lunch count.
