[menscouncil] Circle Liaison and Fall Retreat Report

*Men's Circles*
We have 8 active circles with 75 members.  I followed up with the four men
from Glenn Harris' list who were looking to join a circle--one joined a
circle, one felt it was not a good time for him to join a circle, and the
other two did not respond.  Hannah Hotchkiss recently spoke to a new member
who was interested.  I have not heard back from Hannah or this member yet.

My next step is to plan a spring gathering of representatives from each
circle.  This will be a social event.


*Fall Retreat--Saturday, Sept 30th, at the UUAA*
I reserved both the building and land for Saturday, Sept 30th.  John
Russell also looked into nearby camps--the best contender being YMCA Camp
Copneconic (where the women retreat) for the weekend of Sept 22nd to 24th.
We decided to keep it at the UUAA this year, and on Saturday, Sept 30th.

I like what Jim Schaefer said--"I would encourage us to explore what is
special about the off-site retreat and figure out if we can bring any of
this to the on-site retreat."  I would love to see a variety of activities,
and think we should encourage participants to bring their special skills.
For example, I fondly remember Vey's pottery session.  Maybe the message to
participants is "What can you bring?".
