Throwing in my two cents about men’s council naming.

So, I’m not a younger person, but to me, the word “committee” means bureaucracy, and isn’t any better than “council.”

I’m ok with, “Men’s community group”.

Throwing a name into the ring, how about “Men’s Activities Group”? We could add “organizing” or “planning”, but I think those words are assumed. I think “Men’s Activities Group” explains what we’re about, without being stuffy, imho.

Regarding broadening the focus of the council beyond just men, I’m all for inclusiveness and perhaps saying issues facing men aren’t really specific to men. But I’m really torn because I think one of the foci of the men’s council has been to help address specific loneliness, communication and relationship issues that men encounter. Removing the gender removes the general reason for the men’s council, in my opinion. What am I missing? How does one address issues related to men without specifying gender?
