On behalf of the Vision Support Committee (VSC) and as a member of the
Climate Leadership Team, I am thrilled to share this information with you.



The UU Climate Justice Revival is coming to First UUAA - Save these Dates!

   -

   Saturday, September 28, 2024 -  Interactive workshops for all ages
   -

   Sunday, September 29, 2024 - Worship led by UUA President Rev. Dr. Sofia
   Betancourt preaching from our pulpit, followed by an advocacy hour


The VSC requests the following from every group in our congregation:

   -

   Please forward this message on to your team members and save the dates.
   -

      We ask that no other conflicting events be scheduled or promoted
      during this weekend.
      -

   Begin discussions on ways your group can engage in the Revival. This
   event is about much more than “just” climate!
   -

      See notes below on Opportunities for Collaboration and related
      articles.
      -

   Commit to sending at least one member of your team to the Saturday
   workshop event. We’d love to have all 70+ UUAA groups represented!
   -

   Plan to attend the multi-modal Sunday worship service, either in person
   or online.
   -

   Watch for further announcements, details and volunteer opportunities in
   the UUAA Weekly News and on the Website.


Opportunities for Collaboration*

The UU Climate Justice Revival is more than just “climate”! Climate justice
is racial justice, is gender justice, is disability justice, immigration
justice, LGBTQIA+ justice, economic justice, mental health justice and on
and on. Climate justice is an intersectional justice issue and one we have
to understand as a complex crisis with the same root causes as the systems
of oppression we fight so hard against. The UU Climate Justice Revival is a
perfect opportunity to break down any silos separating our justice work and
ministries, and to come together with creativity, connection, and shared
reimagining.
