Hi there
I think most of you know I serve on the pastoral care team. In the context
of the PC team work, an idea was generated to install a wind phone in the
church property, A wind phone is a thing that exists in other places,
basically an old phone next to a bench where someone can go and talk to the
wind--helps grieving among other things. See an example here

The project has now been given initial approval by the Land Use team of
UUAA and the PC care team is interested in specific design ideas. The
preferred location is likely to be near the back parking lot (where staff
park) in order to be accessible, but this is part of what is being left for
the next approval.
I volunteered to solicit from the Men community some design ideas. I think
this fits within the scope of work of the skills inventory effort. I also
would like to bring up at our November meeting a motion to offer some
material support from our budget. The two things are not connected.
I am writing this now, because I intend to share with the Men Community the
request for designs, which I'll do with my PC team hat. And wanted you to
know this in advance. I won't mention anything about seeking Council
approval for funds but will note that the materials will be provided.
I intend to write before the retreat in case the group that is getting
together to talk about work projects at the church wants to discuss this
then and there. Please let me know if you see a problem with that.
