The newsletter ends with a "Contact Us" button. Worship April's Worship Theme Please join us as we explore the theme of Awakening in the month of April, beginning with a service focusing on Radical Welcome on April 3. Join us for Sunday services at 9:30am & 11:30am in-person and livestreamed at uuaa.org/service. Sharing the Collection Sunday, April 3 On April 3, the collection benefits IHN/Alpha House. The Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) at Alpha House offers services to meet the most basic needs of children and families. IHN/Alpha House provides stability for parents and children living in the shelter and guides them through a plan to secure and maintain stable housing. You may mail your check to UUAA (UUAA, Att: Ed Lynn, 4001 Ann Arbor-Saline Rd., Ann Arbor, MI 48103). Please write “Sharing the Collection/Alpha House” in the memo line. You can also contribute to Alpha House online. After the Sunday Service In April, we will offer refreshments and donuts in the Social Hall after each service. There will also be a limited number of group display tables. Please note the new Covid-Safety Protocols below. UUAA Updated Health and Safety Protocols for April May: Anyone entering the UUAA building for activities/business is expected to be fully vaccinated and boostered, as eligible, and must remain properly masked at all times. *Exception to the mask requirement: While eating in the Social Hall or speaking from the chancel. Give to UUAA A Note from your Congregational Chaplain, rev. theresa. Staffing-Related Update from UUAA's Personnel Working Group The Personnel Working Group wanted to share a brief update related to staffing and personnel matters at UUAA. Our community, alongside many other institutions, has needed to simultaneously navigate: multiple staffing transitions and departures; fiscally driven staff team restructuring; and the need to fill critical, ongoing staff positions that have been vacated or are becoming vacant. As these intersecting dynamics are likely to continue playing out for some time still, we will share with our community periodic updates related to new or upcoming staffing developments. This message contains several such updates. Click here to read more. COVID Policy for April and May In light of improving public health conditions, we have decided to ease some COVID restrictions. Some of these exciting changes include: Universal masking indoors will continue, but masks are optional outdoors. Communal singing will resume in our Sunday services, with masks on. We will resume serving refreshments indoors. Please read the full text of our COVID policy for more details. Submit Your Annual Report Due By Friday, May 27 This congregation continues to experience its first pandemic in over a century. We don’t know what happened in our congregation then, but this is your opportunity to leave a record of what we did this time. You can view the Annual Report page on the website 2021-22 Annual Meeting and Report, but so far it is mostly dead links. If one of those dead links is your activity, please click here to learn how to submit. Beyond Hospitality and Inclusion: Becoming a Radically Welcoming Congregation Sunday, April 3, 2:00pm - 3:30pm Register any time before the event Radical Welcome for All…come to Radical Welcome's Gathering Table! Join us in exploring what it will take to embody radical welcome in ourselves and our UUAA community. Radical Welcome is one of UUAA's three priority areas, along with Anti-Racism/Anti-Oppression and Climate Action/Climate Justice. UUAA aspires to be a more transformed and transforming congregation, where all people are valued in alignment with our principles, values, and covenant, and where each person is heard. Radical Welcome involves real culture change, and we can embrace these practices together. Learn more here. Updated Congregational Health and Safety Policy In order to more fully live into our congregation’s covenant “to dwell together in peace, to search for truth in love,” the leadership of UUAA recently updated our Congregational Health and Safety Policy. These updates further clarify the role of the Healthy Congregation Response Team, the definitions of disruptive or dangerous behaviors, and the potential responses.
