Often we, UU military veterans', are quiet about our experiences.  You may not even know we served.  This is always for personal reasons.  We're asking that you please forward our announcement within your group.  We wish all those who identify as a UU military veteran and/or veteran+ (see note below) become aware this is happening before the end of this church year.
This is being sent to group emails as we are not yet an official UUAA group and cannot yet utilize the UUAA Weekly Newsletter.  Please accept my deep apology for any duplicate emails you will receive in this process.  Thank you very much,

Attention UUAA Veterans and Veterans+ This group will be incorporated as a UUAA Identify group. The UUAA Social Justice Group, Veterans for Peace is ceasing operation. A message to the remaining members has already gone out. Our hope is that by incorporating as an Identity group, we can support wider membership and promote broader awareness of veterans in our congregation as well as veterans' issues.
If you'd like to be a founding member, please send your contact information (phone & email) via Facebook Messenger, or some other means, to Larry Works. If you know someone at UUAA who may be interested, please pass this along. We're grateful to be in community together.
Note: Veterans+ includes, but is not limited to, partners and/or spouses of veterans, adult children of veterans and adults with an affinity for military veterans and the issues we are facing.
