Thanks Carolyn.
Great job Kathy, Tim and Mary Ann. That was such a great overview and the demonstration really drove home how people might feel in such a situation. AND…..watching on zoom was very good. The technical setup was fantastic!!!!!
I also wanted to reach out to the group and see if anyone is interested in facilitating or taking notes during one of the break outs as part of the Feb 6 Anti-Racism/Anti-Oppression (AR/AO) Gathering table. It is a great opportunity to connect with the rest of the congregation on AR/AO, and a great way to put all your amazing skills to work. The breakout questions are provided to you. The commitment is only to participate in the gathering table on Feb 6, and also a prep meeting the previous week (to be scheduled). Let me know if you are interested.
Thanks
Ginny

Subject: [RestorativeJustice] Today's presentation and a Minnesota Congregation
Today we had a wonderful presentation by Kathy, Tim and Mary Ann . During the questions,
we raised the issue of restorative justice at our congregation...Here is the link to the
Congregation that is engaged in restorative justice in Minnesota and the second link is the
article from 2019 when they started circles in collaboration with the city attorney and Dispute Resolution
Center in St. Paul, Minnesota.

Could this happen at our congregation?

“People say, what is the sense of our small effort? They cannot see that we must lay one brick at a time, take one step at a time. A pebble cast into a pond causes ripples that spread in all directions. Each one of our thoughts, words and deeds is like that. No one has a right to sit down and feel hopeless. There is too much work to do.” Dorothy Day
