[RestorativeJustice] Womens Huron Valley letter-writing session

Hello RJUUAA supporters,

You are receiving this note because of your interest and/or participation
in supporting women incarcerated at Women's Huron Valley prison.

We want to let you know about a *new easy opportunity to support people
incarcerated at Women's Huron Valley,** happening this Wednesday, Feb 2
from 7:30-8:30, via Zoom.*

You may be aware that there has recently been a major surge of Covid at the
WHV, and the little human contact allowed is further and destructively
reduced. And there have been miserable problems with heat, hot water, and
other basic needs. Advocacy for remedies is underway, but in the meantime,
spirits need lifting!

Jen Szenay, daughter of life-sentenced LuAnn Szenay -- who has been working
for years on behalf of her mother and other long-termers who were
oversentenced -- is holding* an online letter-writing session by Zoom. To
repeat: Wednesday, Feb 2 from 7:30-8:30. *

The session will include a step-by-step guide for writing (with options for
snail mail, JPay, or electronic letters that Jen would print and mail for
you), and time to actually write a message. You'll be able to choose from
the list of names Jen will share, and/or if you know people on your own,
you can write to them. We will also get some direct inspiration from a
couple of women inside, via audio recording of brief phone calls that Jen
has made. And Jen is lining up tech support for whomever might need it.
