Green Corner: Tell Your Rep to Break Free!!

We all know single-use plastic is terrible for the environment, both because of the carbon footprint of producing it and because it’s not biodegradable. But it’s really hard to avoid it. The onus must be put back on the corporations to stop producing and using it.

The Break Free From Plastic Pollution Acts – SB3127 and HR6053 were recently introduced in Congress. They are comprehensive bills dealing with the plastic problems. These bills have many cosponsors, but Senators Stabenow and Peters and Representatives Dingell, Wahlberg, Slotkin, and Stevens aren’t among them.

Write or call your reps and tell them to support this legislation!
