Many UUAA groups have taken steps to intentionally incorporate Radical Welcome in their congregational and community work. Here are examples of Radical Welcome at UUAA:
- Newcomer’s Welcome and Ushers & Greeters: committed to ensuring that every newcomer is seen, heard, and valued, and has a connection to others in the community. Contact: Rev Mandy Beal mandy@uuaa.org
- AIM (Accessibility and Inclusion Ministry): working on creating inclusive/accessible building and community spaces for everyone, regardless of ability. Contact: aim@uuaa.org
- Kaleidoscope: constantly seeking to build an intergenerational space where we can flourish in our Queer and Trans lives. Contact: kaleidoscopeinfo@uuaa.org
- AV Team (Audio/Visual): installing listening aides for those with hearing impairments, bringing services online for those who are unable to attend in person. Contact: audiovideo@uuaa.org
- Pastoral Care Team: Overcoming transportation barriers for those who want to come to the building by finding volunteers to give rides. Contact: pastoralcare@uuaa.org
- Food Justice: Helping to accommodate food needs for those with dietary restrictions at UUAA events. Contact: foodjustice@uuaa.org
- Friday Fun Night: Creating multi-generational connections and having fun through eating, singing, crafting and so much more. Contact: fridayfuninfo@uuaa.org
- TRUU Hope: Providing social, educational, and activist opportunities for our LGBTQA+ youth to explore their identities and interests. Contact: truuhope@uuaa.org
- Community Walks: These all ages, all congregation walks frequently include routes that are accessible to those using walkers or wheelchairs. Contact: walk@uuaa.org
- Website Team: Striving to meet industry standards that provide better website accessibility by addressing low vision and other disbilities. The web team also collaborates with UUAA groups to provide warmly welcoming information on the uuaa.org website. Contact: webtech@uuaa.org
