Next Steps Towards Wellness Group

Wednesday, May 13, 6:00pm, David Room

Tuesday, May 26, 6:00pm, David Room

Would you like support in moving toward your wellness goals? Would you like to support others on their wellness journey? Challenges in both our health-care and political landscapes can feel depleting, and it can be helpful if we have some mutual support.

Whether you have a chronic condition, want to level up on your health goals, or simply need self-care support in these challenging times, this group seeks to sustain each other across the dimensions of being human. The first half of each meeting will be dedicated to exploring a pre-selected wellness topic. The second half of each meeting will make safe space for personal testimony regarding your circumstances and goals.

Our topics will reach across Physical, Intellectual, Emotional, Spiritual, Occupational, and Social dimensions of wellness. We enter the conversation with the understanding that each one of us has a unique body and circumstances. We are not seeking to follow a specific diet or wellness program; rather we are supporting each other in developing healthy choices and habits for our particular needs.

The group organizer, Seanan Holland, is a member of our congregation who served as a Unitarian Universalist military chaplain. He is a volunteer Yoga teacher at the VA medical center and is studying Ayurveda, an ancient Indian wellness system.

In the month of May, our topic discussion will be on the book Atomic Habits, by James Clear. Please feel free to join us, whether or not you have read the book.
