UUA Congregational Study Action Issue (CSAI) for 2025 – 2027: Abolition, Transformation, and Faith Formation

This is a three-year study on Abolition, Transformation, and Faith Formation. It is a time of study, reflection, and action. The purpose is to provide member congregations of the Unitarian Universalist Association (UUA) with an opportunity to mobilize energy, ideas, and resources around a common issue. The result will be a deeper understanding of our religious position on the issue, resulting in a clear statement of Association policy as expressed in a statement of conscience.
The question posed by Laura Gordon of Pacific UU Fellowship: Can UU congregations form a statement of conscience and create actions that might lead to abolition of the carceral state?
