After Service Social Hour , 11:30 in the Social Hall

Remembering and Celebrating our Animal Companions

This Sunday we take time to honor our deceased pets by creating a Memory Altar together.  We will also offer blessings for the pets with whom we share our lives right now.  It is both a solemn and joyful service.  Through words, music and ritual, we’ll explore how one of the core UU values of interdependence is reflected in our relationships with animals and nature.

This is a multi-generational service, and all are invited to participate in the morning’s rituals; you may bring a memento or photo of a deceased pet to place on the memory altar, and if your current pet is transportable (or is a stuffie), we will bless the pets present in the sanctuary and on live stream that morning.  We can also offer blessings for your non-transportable pet if you have a picture with you.

A PDF version of the order of service is available by Saturday of each week at https://uuaa.org/oos [use the electronic version to help UUAA with our Zero Waste goal.]
