Alpha House Meeting July 1st

Tuesday, July 1, 6:00pm – 7:00pm, via Zoom 

Since 1992, UUAA has supported Interfaith Hospitality Network (IHN) at Alpha House, a shelter for families experiencing temporary homelessness. Thank you to everyone who cooked, volunteered, and donated during our June host week!

Great news! IHN with Trinity Health is planning a new temporary housing program in Ypsilanti. The facility will add 30 apartment-style units, expanding Alpha House from 14 to 44 rooms by November 2025. IHN will maintain the Jackson Road shelter and will not be asking for additional meals during host weeks.

Construction is being launched with a grant from the State of Michigan and the support of Washtenaw County. $500,000 in donations is still needed to furnish the units, staff, and supply the new center.
