Restorative Justice: Clemency and Healing

Restorative Justice: Clemency and Healing

Sunday, August 10, 11:30am – 1:00pm, Social Hall
Wednesday, August 27, 7:00pm – 8:30pm, via Zoom

Please join us on Sunday, August 10 at the Restorative Justice table in the Social Hall to write to Governor Whitmer and seek clemency for the 12 women who have sought commutation from Huron Valley. We will have letters, stamps, and envelopes for you to help with your support. Here is the most recent article encouraging all governors to grant more clemency for those deserving to be out after years of incarceration. We will also have information on how to write to and support the commutation efforts of imprisoned people, and how you can participate in the Unitarian Universalist Association’s Congregational Study Action Issue on Abolition, Transformation, and Faith Formation.

Our next meeting will be Wednesday, August 27, 7:00pm to 8:30pm. Contact Restorativejusticeinfo@uuaa.org for information on how to attend and any other questions. Help us bring healing to those incarcerated and those returning to our communities.
