Restorative Justice December and January

Restorative Justice December and January

Sunday, January 11 and 18, after both services

Thank you all for sending so many wonderful letters to those incarcerated across the nation for the holidays. We continue to work with the Church of the Larger Fellowship to support their prison ministry and begin our engagement with the 2025 UUA Congregational Study Action Issue (CSAI): Abolition, Transformation, and Faith Formation. To learn more about the topic, the CLF recommends reading We Do This ’Til We Free Us by Mariame Kaba, an abolitionist organizing and transforming justice.

Click here to find out more about the CSAI and Mariame Kaba’s book

We have 10 books for congregants to borrow to be part of the book discussion, date to be determined. Come to the table or contact restorativejusticeinfo@uuaa.org

We are also getting ready to provide more baskets for returning citizens. Thank you for all of your generous donations so far. Please continue to donate soaps, detergents, hair products (white and African American products for men and women), can openers, large toothpastes, batteries (any size), oven mitts, and so on. You can bring donations to the RJ table in the Social Hall on December 21, January 5, and January 18.

We have received many thank yous from those coming out who are most grateful for your generosity and kindness.

Our next meeting will be on Wednesday, January 28, via Zoom. Please join us to learn and be part of the effort to foster healing, reparation, and transformation. Contact us at restorativejusticeinfo@uuaa.org
