Build Homes, Build Community, Build Hope with UUAA Habitat for Humanity Work Days
Friday, September 18, 9:00am – 4:00pm
Go to the Habitat for Humanity web page for full information. For nearly three decades, UUAA has proudly partnered with Habitat for Humanity of Huron Valley as part of an interfaith coalition of 13 congregations known as the Good News Group. Since 1997, together we have helped 38 families, including more than 70 children, move into safe, affordable, and highly energy-efficient homes, primarily in Ypsilanti neighborhoods.
This work strengthens families, revitalizes neighborhoods, and protects our planet—and we have a lot of fun along the way.
How You Can Help:
Each summer, UUAA sends about 30 volunteers to Habitat worksites. No experience is required – just a willingness to pitch in! Volunteers help with painting, hammering, yard work, cleanup, and more. Prefer to support from behind the scenes? We also need volunteers to provide lunch for those working on site.
Financial contributions are also essential. Donations help cover the cost of materials that make these homes possible.
