Capitol Day: Communities Over Corporations
Wednesday, April 23, 9:00am – 5:00pm, off-site
Michigan UU Social Justice Network (MUUSJN) is co-sponsoring Capitol Day in Lansing. We’re calling UUs from across Michigan to join together at the State Capitol to demand a government that puts people over profit. Issues we’re fighting for are taxing wealth, getting big money out of politics, universal healthcare, reproductive freedom, and defending voter rights.
Formal programming includes:
- lobby meetings with key policymakers
- a youth panel
- a rally to demonstrate our power and solidarity
Never been to a Capitol or Lobby Day before? Here’s a chance to find out what takes place and be part of the action! Join our group of UUs and experience this event together. Bus transportation will be available from Detroit, Saginaw, Flint, and Grand Rapids.
