Commemorating Nakba 75

Commemorating Nakba 75

Sunday, May 7, During Social Hours, Brown Room

On May 15, Palestinians will commemorate the 75th anniversary of Al Nakba (Arabic for “catastrophe”). View two short videos (8 minutes) about the 1948-1949 Nakba when over 500 cities and villages were destroyed by Zionist militias and 750,000 Palestinians became refugees. For Palestinians, Al Nakba did not end in 1949. In 1967 Israel conquered the remaining 22% of historic Palestine. Today, under Israeli military occupation, the process of ethnic cleansing Palestinians from their homeland and other human rights violations continues.

Viewing times: After first service (10:45am, 11:00am, 11:15am) and after second service (12:45am, 1:00am, 1:15am)
