Understanding Dementia, A First Step to Becoming a Dementia Friendly Congregation

To take this first step to understand what it would mean for UUAA to become a “Dementia-Friendly Congregation”, Jim Mangi will speak on the difference between normal aging and memory loss caused by disease.  He will speak about dementia- friendly communities from his experience as the founder of Dementia-Friendly Saline and the Dementia-Friendly Congregation of his church. Sandy Kunkle will briefly share how her art practice brought light to her caregiving journey.
