Green Corner: More Ways to Zero Waste

Green Corner: More Ways to Zero Waste

You’re already recycling everything you can curbside, and you’re getting started with composting, so what else can you do to get to zero household waste?

Of course, the absolutely best thing is to buy less; the greenest product is the one that is never made. But for the things that are essential, then end up in the landfill when you’re done (pens, toothpaste tubes, snack wrappers,) there are some little-known recycling options.

  • Staples recycles loads of things big and small. Click here to check out the list
  • TerraCycle.com offers free recycling for many things including toothbrushes, toothpaste tubes, frozen food packaging, candy and snack packaging.
  • Pet Supplies Plus recycles flexible plastic pet food and treat bags.
