The Jackson Social Welfare Fund (JSWF) was established from a bequest to our congregation made in 1955 by members, George and Bessie Jackson. Their intent was to advance two goals: 1- understanding and acceptance of the First Amendment to the US Constitution and 2- promoting peaceful means of conflict resolution, both internationally and domestically. The fund is invested and managed by our investments committee, and each year we make grants from the interest on this fund. The JSWF Committee issues a request for proposals each year and meets to evaluate the proposals and decide on how to allocate the funds.
