Help Us Keep UUAA Growing!

Help Us Keep UUAA Growing!

When you arrive at UUAA, do you take a moment to admire the beautiful gardens that surround our building and are scattered throughout the property? Have you strolled the path in the Memorial Garden and basked in the peaceful atmosphere? Those spaces don’t appear lush and weed-free by magic! Have you hiked the trails on the back 40 acres and silently thanked the wood sprites who keep the trails accessible?

Our team of about a dozen dedicated Garden Stewards shows up at UUAA at least twice a week to plant flowers and prune bushes, pull weeds, spread mulch, scatter seeds, and sow love. We would welcome more eager, curious, and dedicated gardeners to join us. No experience? No problem. We learn together every day! Lots of experience? Perfect. We love advice and teamwork.

Want to join or need more information? Email the Garden Stewards Team Leaders at gardeninfo@uuaa.org, or show up at our first meeting of the season. Tuesday, April 28, 10:00am to noon. We’ll gather in the UUAA lobby before taking a tour of the gardens to see how they fared over the winter, while appreciating the work our landscape contractor (Local Life) has done already this spring. Then we will meet indoors to discuss plans for the growing season.
