Proposed New Group: Next Steps Wellness
Tuesday April 7 & April 21, 6:00-8:00 pm, David Room
Would you like support as you move toward your wellness goals? Would you like to support others on their wellness journey? Our challenging political landscape can feel depleting, and it can be helpful if we have some mutual support.
These initial meetings will determine whether there is interest in creating a permanent group focused on sustaining each other across the dimensions of being human. The format of the meetings will be shaped by your interest and effort. Initially, the group will meet twice per month, with each meeting having a different format. One meeting will give us space to speak to our own health challenges and name our goals. The other monthly meeting will be a discussion on a health-related topic. Our topics would reach across physical, intellectual, emotional, spiritual, occupational, and social wellness. We enter the conversation with the understanding that each one of us has a unique body and circumstances. We are not seeking to follow a specific diet or wellness program; rather, we are supporting each other in developing healthy choices and habits for our particular needs.
The group organizer, Seanan Holland, is a member of our congregation who served as a Unitarian Universalist military chaplain. He is a volunteer yoga teacher at the VA medical center and is studying Ayurveda, an ancient Indian wellness system.
The first meetings will be on the first and third Tuesday of April (April 7 and 21) from 6:00pm to 8:00pm in the David Room. If you have questions, you can contact Seanan.
