Services – April 19th

Two services at 9:30 am and 11:30 am; in person and online at uuaa.org/service

The Gift Economy: Celebrating Abundance in the Natural World

Robin Wall Kimmerer, author of The Serviceberry and Braiding Sweetgrass, asks, “Can we imagine a human economy with a currency which emulates the flow from Mother Earth?” Join us for a Multigenerational Earth Day Dirt Communion Worship Service as we explore the possibilities of a gift economy, based not in scarcity and competition, but in abundance, interdependence, and gratitude.

All are invited to bring a small amount of soil from a place that is meaningful to you, to add to our communal bowl (we’ll have extra for you if you forget).  The service will include music from the Chalice Chamber Singers and the Chalice Sparks (11:30am), as well as our Child Dedication Ceremony. We will also gather outside right after each service to bless the land that is supporting the Ancestors Grove of Trees.

Services are at 9:30 and 11:30. There is a social hour following each service. Join us for coffee and conversation; learn more about how you can engage with our UUAA activities.

A PDF version of the order of service is available by Saturday of each week at https://uuaa.org/oos [You can use the electronic version to help UUAA with our Zero Waste goal.]
