Zero Waste at UUAA April 2024

Zero Waste at UUAA April 2024

Our wonderful Earth Day celebration is only a memory, but our commitment to Zero Waste at UUAA is ongoing! All of us are invited to use the correct bins in the Social Hall and kitchens when disposing food waste. Hint: You can always check the signage with photos on each bin.

  • Compostable bin (green lid) – All food scraps and food waste, as well as the BPI-certified plates, cups, and napkins accepted by My Green Michigan that are currently in use in the Social Hall.
  • Mixed recycling bin (blue lid) – Metal food and beverage cans, glass bottles and jars, plastic bottles and containers, flattened cardboard, paper, and food and beverage cartons.
  • Landfill bin (black lid) – Anything not allowed in the compostable or mixed recycling bins. When in doubt, throw it out.
  • Compostable five-gallon buckets – Food scraps and waste from home.

Remember, 2024 is Year Zero at UUAA! Please help us work toward our climate action/climate justice goal of zero food waste. To get more involved, contact ZeroWasteInfo@uuaa.org.
